The Insolvency Practitioners Association has appointed Charles Turner FIPA as its new President for the coming year. Charles takes office with immediate effect, following the IPA’s Annual General Meeting and serves as the Association’s figurehead and Chairman of its board of directors for the next 12 months.
Charles is a partner at FRP Advisory, operating primarily out of its Bristol and London offices, as a mid-market restructuring and insolvency specialist. Charles is a strong supporter of the IPA’s exam and training agenda, having acted as chief examiner and has been active in representing the Association for many years, including leading the Personal Insolvency Committee.
The insolvency profession faces a challenging period in 2013/14, and Charles is keen to ensure that the reputation of the IPA and its members is such that those who engage with Insolvency Practitioners can have confidence in the practice standards to which they operate.
“The market in which Insolvency Practitioners operate has evolved and business practices have changed, whether in dealing with the financial distress of corporate entities or private consumers,” says Charles. “This requires the IPA, as a leading regulator, to be responsive to the needs of the profession and the clients it serves. I look forward to leading the IPA at an exciting time in meeting some of these challenges as well as in launching some important new products and services for members.”
